The Winnemucca 11-12-year-old Little League All-Stars will be traveling to Hawthorne this week for the District 3 Tournament.
Walker River (Yerington), Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek), White Pine (Ely), Silverada (Dayton), High Desert (Fernley) and Elko are also competing.
Winnemucca takes on Hawthorne in the opening round at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Walker River and Ruby Mountain, White Pine and Silverada and Elko and High Desert are the other first round match-ups.
If Winnemucca defeats Hawthorne, they will play the winner of Walker River and Ruby Mountain at noon. on Thursday. If Winnemucca loses they will play on Thursday at 5 p.m. The tournament runs all week with the championship game set for 9 a.m. on Monday. If needed, a second title game will take place.
The winner advances to the state tournament in Las Vegas.
