The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association announced last Wednesday at its regular board meeting that it was moving up dates for fall conditioning and practices for football only.
The heat acclimatization will now begin on Wednesday, Aug. 5, instead of Aug. 8. That period of practice will take place from Aug. 5-8. Three days of non-contact drills will take part from Aug. 10-12.
Teams will get three extra days of contact practice, with the dates being moved up. Contact drills can take part from Aug. 13-21. Scrimmages can also take part on Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22.
Lowry High School will host Elko in a scrimmage on Aug. 22 and open its regular season on Friday, Sept. 4, at home against Fernley. The Buckaroos will be under the direction of new coach Taua Cabatbat.
