Obituary: Robert “Bob” James Norris

Robert “Bob” James Norris, 70, died at his home in Winnemucca, Nevada on June 23, 2015 of natural causes.

Robert was born on December 31, 1944 in National City, California to Harry Norris and Lucille Livesay. He lived in Carson City, NV and McDermitt, NV and finally made his home in Winnemucca, NV with is bride Karen Hascall 49 ½ years ago.

He graduated from High School in Carson City, NV in 1964. Robert proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1996 where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

Bob owned and operated B-J Excavating in Grass Valley. He was an active member and vice president of the Iron Horses and Machinery Club. Every year he brightened up Grass Valley Road with his decorated Iron Horse tractor for Christmas. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, marksmanship, working with his hands and helping others.

Robert is survived by his wife Karen Norris, his daughters DeLinda (Richard) Brown and Melissa Norris; his granddaughter Danielle Norris and great grand children Zoie Norris and Adalyn Timothy. Bob had three brothers: Bill (Diane), Max (Ange) and John (Diane); and two sisters Kathy (John) Whitman and Carol Curtis.

John was preceded in death by his parents Herry and Lucille Norris.

Memorial services will be held Sunday June 28, 2015 at the Nevada National Guard Armory on Fourth Street in Winnemucca, NV at 2:00 pm.
