1987 -2015
Casey Paul Sauers, born August 10, 1987 of Winnemucca NV passed away June 10, 2015 at the age of 27 as the result of a tragic accident. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was born at Nellis A.F.B. in Las Vegas, NV, to Kevin and Candice (Mundt) Sauers. His father’s military service moved him to Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Altamonte Springs, FL. When Casey was 6 his family moved to Winnemucca, NV, where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Casey was a 2006 graduate of Lowry High School; he went on to earn a diploma in Collision Repair Technology from the Universal Technical Institute in Sacramento. He briefly worked in the auto collision repair field in Reno before returning to Winnemucca and pursuing a career in the mining industry.
In his spare time Casey enjoyed wrenching on vehicles, he also loved motorized sports and cruising on his Harley. He especially loved all time spent with his family and friends.
He married Rhiannon Hornbarger in 2013 and gained two sons Edward and Michael. Although the couple divorced in 2015, Casey remained a father to the boys.
Casey is survived by; his parents, his older brother, Elliott and wife Shelby Sauers and their son Wolfgang, younger brothers, Phillip Sauers and Ian Sauers. He is also survived by his fraternal grandmother, Sandra Sauers of Fort Pierce, FL. Uncles and aunts include: Keith and Layne Sauers of Altamonte Springs, FL, Terri Urrutia Mundt, Etienne and Rita Clement of Winnemucca, NV and several great uncles, great aunts and cousins.
Casey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Lois Mundt of Battle Mountain, NV, his fraternal grandfather, Paul Sauers of Altamonte Springs, FL, and cousin, Aaron Urrutia of Winnemucca, NV.
A celebration of life will be Sunday June 21, 2015 at 1pm in the United Methodist Church located at 138 W. Winnemucca Blvd.
