3-28-1955 ~ 6-1-2015
Robin Ann Kerr Hooper of Winnemucca, NV passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2015 in Reno, NV. She was the oldest of 5 children born to Ivy Ann Lightfoot and Allen Robins Kerr. She was born on March 28, 1955 in Tooele, UT and raised in the Glendale area of Salt Lake City. She graduated from South High.
Robin inherited her red hair from her dad and her stubborn nature from her mom and together they helped make her the independent and spirited women that she was. She moved out when she was 18 and enjoyed making her own way in life. If she didn’t know how to do something she learned and then did it. She could be feisty and still make you feel like you were best friends from the moment you met.
Robin’s daughter, Branda, was her 1st love. They grew closer together with each passing year. She met and married her sweetheart, Basil Hooper, in Battle Mountain, NV on August 29, 1992. Basil was her rock and her foundation; her forever sweetheart! And she was his right arm. Basil brought a son to their family, Basil Lee. Then her family grew again with the birth of a grandson, Herbie and granddaughter, Rylee Quinn. She loved being a mother, wife, and grandmother.
Robin loved taking care of her home and most especially her yard. She was in her happy place when she was working in her yard. She loved animals and took care of many throughout the years. Robin will be dearly missed by all who knew her but most especially her dear family.
She leaves behind her husband, daughter, granddaughter and grandson. Two sisters, Holly Densley of Magna, UT and Crystal (Robert) Koonce of West Jordan, UT and a brother, Shawn (Cindy) of Midvale, UT and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Quinn, and her stepson, Basil Lee Hooper.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13th at the LDS Church, 111 McArthur Ave. with viewing at 10:00 am and services starting at 11:00 am.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sonoma Funeral Home, Winnemucca, NV. 775-623-2986.
