Gabe Molina won a state title in his senior season at 132 pounds. Molina knocked off South Tahoe’s James Sorenson 12-3 in the semifinals and Western’s Alex Richardson 7-5 in the final. The senior also claimed the regional championship in his weight class.

In addition this past year, Molina finished fifth at the Sierra Nevada Classic in Reno. He wrestled eight times in the two days

In his sophomore season, Molina finished fourth at the state championships and in his junior year he was fourth as well at 138 pounds.

The Cougars are part of the California Community College Athletic Association. Lassen is coached by Francis Beaujon, who has more than 20 years experience as a coach.
