Lowry High School announces summer dates

Even though the school year has ended, Lowry High School will still be busy this summer with a number of teams holding conditioning, open gyms and camps.

Football:

The Eastern Oregon Camp will take place from June 10-12 at the high school.

Freshmen will have morning conditioning from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. from June 15-July 2. Evening conditioning for sophomores, juniors and seniors will take place from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. from June 15-July 2. Evening conditioning for all classes will take place from July 6-30 (Monday-Friday) from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

The 2015 season gets underway with heat acclimation from Aug. 10-12. Double day practices will take place from 7 a.m.-noon, from Aug. 13-21. Lowry opens its season on Friday, Sept. 4, at home against Fernley.



Volleyball:

Summer open gyms and strength training will run from June 8-Aug. 6. Open gyms will take place from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. in the old gym on Tuesday’s and Thursday for all four classes. Strength training will be held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s in the old gym from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

The Spike Frog Volleyball camp will be held July 23-25 in the old gym. The Northern Nevada Juniors Volleyball Varsity Camp (Reno) is set for July 31-Aug. 2, ad the Northern Nevada Freshman/Sophomore Camp (Reno) will run Aug. 3-5.

The Lady Bucks begin their season on Aug 28-29 at the Yerington Invitational.



Girls soccer:

Summer Conditioning (shin guards mandatory) will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday night from 7 p.m-8 p.m., at Lowry high school. Saturday training will take place 6 p.m.-8 p.m., also at Lowry

The Lowry Junior Bucks Soccer Camp runs July 13-17 at the high school from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the high school soccer field. Ages K through ninth grade are welcome to sign up.

The first official day of practice is Saturday, Aug. 15, from 7 a.m.-8 a.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Double days will run from Aug. 17-22, from 5 a.m.-6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.,m.

All freshman and juniors must have a new physical exam and all sophomores and seniors must have a physical exam on file at Lowry High School. All required paperwork must be submitted in order to be allowed to tryout, including physical examination form, NIAA concussion prevention form, NIAA alcohol/tobacco/drug policy form and parental permission form.

The season starts Friday, Sept. 4, in Spring Creek.



Boys Soccer:

The boys soccer team will get together from June 8-Aug. 15, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m and 11 a.m. on Saturday. The season starts Friday, Sept. 4, in Spring Creek.



Cross Country:

Running will start the week of June 15, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. There will also be breakfast runs on Saturday. Runners will meet at the LHS track as usual.



Cheer:

The Lowry cheer team will meet June 9-12, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-10 a.m., June 15-26, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. and July 13-29, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. A cam will take place Aug. 2-7, which includes two travel days. Mandatory practice begins Aug. 17-28, from Monday– Friday from 7 a.m.-10 a.m.



Girls Basketball:

The Lowry Little Girls Basketball Camp takes place from June 15-19 from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The Lowry Player Development Camp will take place June 22-25 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. The CSI Team Camp

will be June 29-July 2 and the Shot Club will be July 6-30 from 8 a.m.-10 a.m.



Boys Basketball:

Every Saturday during the summer starting June 13, ball handling from 8 a.m.-10:00 a.m.



Wrestling:

Grant Brother’s are holding their wrestling camp July 17-19 in new gym at the high school. Each day starts at 9 a.m.
