Alyssa Jones became the second Lowry High School girls basketball player to take the next step to college, as the recent graduate signed a letter of intent to play for Lassen College in Susanville, Calif.

Last month, teammate Jasmine Marchand signed at Feather River in Quincy, Calif. After playing together in high school the two will be rivals in college this winter.

Jones helped the Lady Bucks to a perfect 16-0 record in league play and 23-6 overall. Lowry reached the state tournament for a second straight season, after winning the state championship in 2014.

This past season, she averaged 2.5 points a game, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals a game for the Lady Bucks in her senior season.

In her junior year, Jones averaged 2.8 points a game to go with 1.5 rebounds.

Jones was also a player for the Lowry girls soccer and softball teams and was apart of their playoff runs as well this past school year.

Feather River had a record of 15-11 this past season and the Cougars play in the California Community College Athletic Association. Other teams in the league include Feather River, College of the Siskiyous, Shasta College, College of the Redwoods and Butte College.
