Stannard shoots 37 to win Jeff Herzog junior golf tourney

Trevor Stannard shot a round of of 1-over 37 to win the Jeff Herzog junior golf tournament, held Wednesday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. Fifty six junior golfers took part in the tournament.

Steven Bosch was second in the 15-to 17-year-old age group with a 39 and Zane Fifield (42) and Dalton irons (49) were third and fourth, respectively.

Alyssa Dendary carded a 52 to win the girls 15-to 17-year-old division.

In the girls 10 and under age group that played nine holes, Hayden Case won with a 66. Hadlee Bengochea was second at 70 and Paris Castillo was third at 74. Katelyn Cassinelli, Nadia Novi and Alia Novi tied for fourth with rounds of 76.

Tea Novi (49) took the top spot in the girls 11- to-12-year-old age group. Megan Li (52) placed second and Angelina Martinez (64) was third. Peyton Jo Cassinelli (79), Josie Ellifritz (80) and Emily Backus (85) rounded out the scores.

Dillon Patterson won the boys 13- to 14-year-old division with a nine-hole score of 39.

Tyler Neu was second with a round of 51 and Kobe Stoker (55) was third. Zach Wolverton 59) and Will Kracaw (60) rounded out the top five.

In the boys 11- to 12-year-old group that played nine holes, Hunter Mullins shot a 47 to win. Gianni Giordano and Rian DeLong tied second at 53, Justin Horton (55) was fourth and Dylan Lutzow (58) and Cal Peters (62) were fifth and sixth, respectively.

Jaden Jiminez won the 10 and under age group with a score of 56. John Boyle (61) was second and Bryan Songer (67) was third.

Jack DeLong (74) was fourth and Dante Cassinelli and Daniel Hinton tied for fifth at 77.
