Obituary: Daniel R. Hayes

Daniel R. Hayes, 70, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, in Pleasanton, Calif. He was with his wife, daughters and incredible staff that did everything they could for this amazing man. God decided that Dan needed to come home, so he went from this world to the next that Sunday morning.

Dan was born to Connie (Art) and Catherine Hayes in Hollywood, Calif. January 11, 1945. They lived in Lemoore and Hanford, Calif. until he graduated high school. His mother had a restaurant that Dan worked in all his young life. His father was involved in agriculture so after high school he worked with his father for a time. As a young man Dan started working construction in California and Nevada running heavy equipment. There he met and married Susan Siek. They had three wonderful children. Dan eventually got into mining always working with heavy equipment in Wyoming, Nevada and Alaska. Later in life he married Katherine Buckendorf and they shared a life of mining and grandchildren playing sports. After his wife of 10 years passed away Dan moved from Alaska to Nevada where he worked at Marigold Mine until his retirement. He met and married Connie Frandsen in 2008 and they were the best of friends until his death. Dan was the type of person that everyone loved. He was kind and gentle yet a man’s man. He wanted to be of help to anyone that needed help.
