National High School Finals Rodeo continues in Wyoming

Action wraps up on Saturday night

The first go-around of the National High School Finals Rodeo concluded on Wednesday morning in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Clay Stremler, who rides as an independent, sits seventh in the saddle bronc standings with a score of 66 points. The Nevada state champion in the event, was second in his Tuesday morning performance. He made his second go-around on Thursday night and results were not available at press time.

Luke Logan sits in 47th in tie-down roping with a time of 14.3 seconds. He was 15th in his Sunday evening performance and makes his second run on Saturday morning.

Logan is also competing in saddle bronc riding and had a no time in his first performance on Monday morning. He will be back on the horse on Friday evening.

Shaun Mentaberry made it the full eight seconds in his first performance of saddle bronc on Tuesday evening and scored 39 points.

That was good enough for fourth in the performance and 28th overall. He made his second run in the event on Thursday morning and results were not available at press time.

Quint Bell is taking part in steer wrestling had recorded a no time in his first performance. Her is back in action on Saturday morning. Seth Duncan ran into bad luck in the first performance of bareback and received a no-time. He makes his second run on Saturday morning.

The top 20 contestants in each event advance to a final round of competition on Saturday to determine who will walk away with the coveted championship buckles.
