Humboldt County’s Trase Bell had a strong showing at the Silver State International Rodeo, which concludes Sunday at the Winnemucca Events Complex.
Bell, was just one of three Nevada athletes to place in the top four at the rodeo. He accomplished the feat in steer wrestling.
Bell was 10th in the first performance of steer wrestling with a time of 18.9 seconds. He had no time in the second performance, but sill had a good enough time to advance to the short go-around on Sunday.
He made the best of his opportunity, finishing second in the short go-around at 10.24, earning him the top four finish.
The other two Nevada riders to finish in the top four were Abby Estes of Spring Creek, who finished fourth in the average in the breakaway roping and Carley Ingram of Spanish Springs, who placed second in the average in the breakaway roping.
