BMHS basketball teams back in action on home floor

The two-week break for the Battle Mountain High School basketball teams comes to an end on Saturday.

Despite is still being Christmas break, the Longhorns will be on its home floor to take on West Wendover in a Division III North match-up. The day starts at 11 a.m. with the JV girls, followed by the JV boys, varsity girls and varsity boys. The JV boys are on a nine-game winning streak, while the varsity girls and varsity boys are 1-1 in league play.

Battle Mountain will be back on its home floor on Friday, Jan. 8, to host Yerington, starting at 3 p.m. with the JV girls.

The Battle Mountain wrestling team is currently in Reno for the Sierra Nevada Classic. The tournament, featuring nearly 100 teams from around the West, began on Tuesday. It concludes today (Wednesday) at the Livestock Events Center.

The Longhorns take the weekend off, before heading to Buhl, Idaho, for the Buhl Invitational on Jan. 8-9.
