Battle Mountain High School’s Jeff Oakes earned All-American honors with his victory at 182 pounds last Saturday at the Reno Tournament of Champions held at the Reno Event Center. Oakes defeated Angel Solis of LeMoore High School 5-2 in the championship. Battle Mountain finished 31st out of 105 teams with 72 points. Poway won the team title with 212 points and Pomona was second with 181.50 points. Below, Oakes wrestles at the Cody Louk Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 12, in Winnemucca.
