Dear President Obama:
Sir, you were elected to represent all the citizens of this country. You were not elected as an activist to incite racial division; you were not elected to degrade law enforcement, you were not elected to advocate for one segment of population while ignoring the concerns or needs of others. You were elected to represent all the citizens of this county, not a select few.
Truly great leaders lead by example. Sir, you could start leading this nation by not attempting to shame the American public into conforming to your agenda. You could lead by not ignoring a threat to the citizens of this country that is attempting to erode the values and freedoms that we all cherish. You could lead by having unarmed secret service agents protecting you and your family, the same level of protection you wish to afford our loved ones.
The Second Amendment is based on the right to self-defense, resistance to oppression, and civic duty to act in concert with the defense of the state.
Sir, truly great leaders lead by example not by threats or shaming. The legacy of a great leader is the ability to unite a nation, not divide a nation. History will judge your legacy by your ability to unite our nation or your current course of dividing our nation and tearing at the very fabric of our freedom, rights and values.
Respectfully,
Shelly Kyllo
