Obituary: Donald Duane Long

Donald Duane Long (77) passed away October 21, 2015, at his home in Washoe Valley, NV with hims family at his bed side.

Don was born March 24, 1938 in Burlington, IA to James William and Pearl Blanch Shook Long. Don came to Lovelock in 1946 with his parents and attended school here.

Don worked at the Lovelock Theater running the projector, he played taps at military services while in high school and became a Champion Trap Club shooter and won many trophies.

He was also a member of the gun club and an avid hunter of all kinds of game.

Don served four (4) years in the Air Force. He also worked for Nevada Bell for 28 years in the Reno-Carson City area.

Don is survived by his wife Myra B. Long, son Dennis, grandson Nathan (Whitney) all of Washoe Valley, daughter Karen Travis of Tucson, Az, grandsons Logan of Reno, NV, Dustin and James. Also three great grandchildren. Aunts Geneva Long Carnes of Burlington, IA and Loa Long of Lovelock, NV.
