Edna Enola Fowler-Penola passed away peacefully on August 12, 2015. Edna was born November 26, 1924 in Bailey County, Texas to Orville and Dora Fowler. In 1937, following the Great Depression the Fowler Family moved to Fallon, Nevada to start their lives as farmers.
In 1965 Edna married George Penola. The two traveled the West Coast by semi hauling hay and livestock. In the early 1970’s they made home in Battle Mountain where they owned and operated Penola Trucking.
Edna was an award winning artis and gardener. She was a rock collector and loved to can and cook.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Dora Fowler, sisters Geneva Keefer and Beatice Fowler, brother Luther Fowler and grandson, Seth Stauffer. She is survived by her husband, George, children, Dorothy Stauffer, Gene (Kathy) Testolin, Wayne (Barbara) Testolin, Nancy (Tom) Ebert and Angel (Shane) Edgar. Grandchildren, Shane Hill, Shannon (Matt) Brewer, Kathy (Darrin) Pugh, Jessica (Jeremy) Reinke, Tony Testolin, Ashlee, Shyann, and Jesse Edgar and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 20th at 10 a.m. at the Eureka Cemetary (follow signs) BBQ to follow at the Eureka Park.
