Toyah Von James, age 29 of Challis, Idaho has joined Our Lord and Heavenly Father in the Kingdom of Heaven. She was taken from us all too soon in a motor vehicle accident near Challis the evening of April 15, 2015
Born in Oroville, California, Toyah was raised in Winnemucca, Nevada by Mark and Tammie James. The family moved to Boise, Idaho when she was 13 years old, and Toyah graduated from Borah High School in 2004. After graduation, Toyah moved back to Winnemucca where her son Tai Treyu James was born in 2007. In 2012 Toyah moved to Challis, Idaho where she enjoyed raising her son, exploring the outdoors and was always finding a road that she hadn't been on before. She loved spending time at the river often with beloved son Tai, but almost always with her dog Chance.
Most recently Toyah became engaged to be married to Leland Schmid Jr. The last several months were spent diligently fixing up her recently purchased home and making preparations for their wedding which was to take place April 16, 2015. Toyah, Leland and Tai were looking forward to a wonderful life together.
Toyah is survived by her son Tai Treyu James, mother Tammie Lynn Clifford (of Challis, ID), father Mark Robert James (of Winnemucca, NV), maternal grandfather Alvin Pierce (of Gridley, CA), maternal grandmother Cora Sue Bashnick (Challis), paternal grandfather Mike James (Winnemucca), Aunt Sheila Crislip (Gridley, CA), uncle Matt James (Winnemucca), stepfather Ryan Clifford Sr., stepbrother Ryan Clifford Jr. (Challis), Mark's wife Corrine, stepbrothers Justin, Johhny and Jacob and little sister Marilyn, numerous cousins and their families.
Toyah was preceded in death by grandmother Marilyn James and uncle Stan Pierce.
Services will be held Saturday, May 2 11am at the New Hope Assembly of God Church Challis, Idaho with Pastor Bill Matthews presiding. Arrangements made with Jones & Casey Funeral Home of Challis, Idaho.
