Obituary: Helen Elaine (Martin) Jones

2-26-1944 to 3-31-2015

Helen Elaine (Martin) Jones passed away at the age of 71 at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, NV, on March 31, 2015.

Helen was born on February 26, 1944 to Helen and Clyde Martin in Hutchinson Kansas. She married the love of her life Clyde Martin on January 1, 1982. She lived in Utah and Nevada throughout her life.

Helen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education and her Master’s Degree in special education. She was a teacher in numerous communities in Kansas, and Nevada. Helen retired in 2012 from Lowery High School here in Winnemucca, NV, where she worked with special needs students.

She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, fishing with her beloved husband, playing slots, cooking and crafting. Helen was a long standing member of TOPS.

Helen is survived by her husband Carl Jones of Winnemucca, her son Charles (Shirley) Jones of Guttenberg, IA; her daughter’s Catrina (Chad) Schwartz of Cascade, IA and Kelli Fain of Winnemucca, NV. Her brother Jerry (Glenda) Martin of Hutchinson, KS and her sister LuAnn Martin from FT Myers, FL. Ronald and Juanita Warrick of Winnemucca, NV. Helen had thirteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Martin, and father Clyde Martin.
Helen’s family would like to thanks the nurses at Genesis Home Health, and a special thanks to Carrie and the staff at Humboldt General Hospital for all their help and care.
