WINNEMUCCA - Within the past four weeks residents of Winnemucca and some travelers passing through have been the victims of vehicle burglaries, according to a Winnemucca Police Department news release.
The suspects are checking residential areas for unlocked vehicles and looking for anything of value. Losses have included bicycles, electronic devices, cash and other items. If the keys are left in the ignition, the vehicle is sometimes taken as well, WPD said.
Arrests have been made in association with some of the crimes; however, there are still offenders that have not yet been apprehended.
The WPD encourages residents to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood. If your vehicles or home have been burglarized please report the crime.
