WPD arrests man on allegations of attempting to lure teenage girls

WINNEMUCCA - On March 9 officers and detectives from the Winnemucca Police Department served a search warrant at 5017 Unit B Buckaroo Drive.

According to a press release from the WPD, the search warrant was in reference to allegations that a 40-year-old adult male, Obinna Agbasi, attempted to lure teenage girls under the age of 16 years old on multiple occasions over the past several months.

A felony arrest warrant was issued for Agbasi charging him with two counts of attempting to lure a child, a category B felony. Agbasi was taken into custody and transported to the Humboldt County jail, where he was booked accordingly. His bail was set at $40,000.00.

Once Agbasi was taken into custody a search of his home was conducted pursuant to the search warrant.

Although several victims have been identified and other charges are pending, detectives from the WPD ask that anyone having any type of inappropriate contact with Agbasi contact them at (775) 623-6396.

Agbasi is described as a 40-year-old African-American male with short black hair, approximately 5-foot-6 and approximately 190 pounds.
