LOVELOCK - Students at Pershing County High School are gearing up for Homecoming week, Oct. 1 through 5. This year's them is World Wide Mustang Pride.
Students will be given the opportunity to show their Mustang Pride through out the week with a variety of dress-up day themes and activities.
The week starts off on Monday with Animal Day. Students can dress in animal prints or like their favorite four-legged friend.
Tuesday is Sports Wear Day. Wear your favorite team's jersey.
Wednesday is Decade Day. Students can dress in any decade from the Roaring 1920's to the tight jean and puffy hair of the 1980's. Along with the dress-up day, students will enjoy the Battle of Bands and Mr. Mustang contests.
Thursday is Pajama Day. Everyone enjoys wearing their pj's to school and this day will really be a treat to all students as they will be decorating floats all day, with a barbeque thrown in by the school.
Thursday night at 7:30 there will be an assembly at the football field followed by the traditional bond fire. Pershing County High School Counselor Matthew Schottel thanked EP Minerals for donating the wooden pallets and the Lovelock Volunteer Fire Department for making sure the fire doesn't get carried away.
Even though there is no school on Friday the Mustang Pride is still alive. The morning begins with a pancake breakfast fundraiser at 9:30 a.m. The fundraiser is sponsored by the PCHS Leadership Team and is on a donation basis. Funds raised at the breakfast will benefit a local cancer patient Schottel said.
Following the breakfast the Spirit Assembly will take place in the new auditorium at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend this assembly. Be sure to show you Mustang Pride by wearing you red and black.
At approximately noon the Homecoming Parade will take its traditional cruse through town.

The freshman class travel around town in their Greek mythology themed float. The sophomore class will portray an African safari on their float. The junior class's float will have a Roman theme and London will be the theme of the senior class's float.
