WJHS wrestlers have success at Lovelock Invitational

Warriors have seven individual champions

The Winnemucca Junior High School wrestling team took 24 grapplers to its first tournament of the season last Saturday at Pershing County High School in Lovelock.

The Warriors brought home seven individual champions on the day.

"The kids wrestled well," said coach John Brooks. "With some more mat time we should make some good gains. I was happy for the first time out and there were some kids that had never wrestled before that showed good promise."

Caleb Hinkle (105), Raymond Orzech (110) and Caleb Sanchez (130) were second and Hunter Christiansen (77) was third. Jimmy Rackley (95) and Wil Kracaw (125) turned in fourth-place performances.

At the seventh-grade level, Taylor Corak (85), Cole Jones (90) and Cade Bell (95) were first. Issac Mori (80) and Anthony Peterson (125), who are sixth graders, also won their respective weight classes.
