The Winnemucca Junior High School seventh and eighth-grade girls basketball teams will be holding an open gym from Monday, Aug. 18, through Friday, Aug. 22, from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at WJHS for those interested in trying out for the team this fall.
Players interested in trying out for the team are encouraged to come, as this will be a time to work on their skills. All students trying out for basketball must have a physical completed before tryouts are held.
The physical is good for all sports for both years at WJHS. A player will not need another physical completed unless she is injured and placed on a medical excuse by a doctor. Once a physical has been completed by a doctor, it can be returned to the office at WJHS.
Tryouts for the respective teams will start after school on Monday, Aug. 25, (first day of school). Paperwork can be picked up from the main office and must be completed and turned in to coaches prior to tryouts on Aug. 25.
