WJHS boys basketball opens in Carson

Warriors make home debut on Nov. 22

The Winnemucca Junior High School seventh and eighth-grade boys basketball teams get their seasons underway today in Carson City and Fernley.

The Warriors play Carson Middle School, beginning at 3 p.m. at Carson Middle School.

The Warriors open up Tri-County play on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Lovelock at 9 a.m. and are back on the road on Thursday, Nov. 20, to play at Fernley at 3 p.m.

Winnemucca will be at home for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 22, to host the Tri-County at 9 a.m.

After the Thanksgiving break, Winnemucca travels to Fallon on Wednesday, Dec. 3, for a game at 3:30 p.m. and travel McDermitt on Saturday, Dec. 6 for Tri-County play that begins at 9 a.m.

The Warriors will be home on Tuesday, Dec. 9 to play Fallon at 4 p.m. and the Tri-County Championship will be Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m.

The eighth-grade team is coached by KC Kracaw and includes Josiah Chapman, Brendon Domite, Evan Jeppsen, Oscar Juanes, Jacob Marriott, Dorsey Naveran, Logan Peters, Kyle Sappington, Scottie Smith, Jakeb Snyder, Kyle Wright and Miguel Barajas.

The seventh-grade team is coached by Todd Milton and includes Michael Casalez, Taylor Corak, Derek Espinoza, Josh Leveille, Max Mavity, Bodi Miller,Tazmin Milton, Tyler Neu, Jordan Parker, Preston Snow, Kobe Stoker and Diego Villa.
