Many of us probably already noticed how slow business is in Winnemucca. We feel that part of this problem could be solved if Winnemucca was to hold an event every month of the year instead of the summer months only.
People both locals and tourists like things to do other than just walk around or visit bars. Many tourists ask why nothing is going on in the winter, as a local citizen I have no answer.
Part of the reason we are slow is that many of our events that we do have are not original but based on what Reno is doing. We are not Reno. We are Winnemucca. One of them is Fifties Fever. Why don't we change it to something like Disco Fever. Many people said they would go to this as it sounds fun.
What about a New Year's party for the whole town, not just the casino ones, I believe a lot of people would go to it.
What this town needs is someone that can sell the town as a place to visit, not just a stop off. We really need to pick business up and I believe a lot of businesses would agree with me on that.
I am a locally born citizen and this is the slowest I have ever seen this town. We need some kind of change.
