Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course plays host to Louie Peraldo Memorial

WINNEMUCCA - Golfers from northern Nevada were on hand last Saturday for the inaugural Louie Peraldo Memorial Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Frontier Community Coalition.

All proceeds from the tournament go directly to children's and family services that the coalition supports, including Project MAGIC, a program for first offenders; the Drug Endangered Children Program, which provides support to children in unsafe situations due to parents' drug-related issues; Rachel's Challenge, an anti-bullying program; and state-certified parenting classes.

The foursome of Paul Meckley, Michael Meckley, Joe Pratt and Jeff Carter finished first in the net division. Russ Yowell, Casey Yowell, Jerry Fox and Ed Zamora won the low net honors. Chris Drobny, Tina Drobny, Mark Carlson and Robert Velasquez were second in the net division.

The rear enders (last place) were Bill Janhunen, Gail Janhunen, Bruce Braginton and Pam Braginton.

The longest drive for the men went to Joe Pratt and Jerry Jakich and the women were led by Di An Putnam and Kathy North.

Barb deArrieta was closest to the hole on No. 2 for the women, while Joe deArrieta was closest to the hole for the men. Krystle Weaver and Ignacio Garijo were closest to the hole on No. 5.
