Winnemucca Grammar School to host annual spook night Saturday, Oct. 19

WINNEMUCCA - This area's young trick-or-treaters are invited to get a jump on Halloween next Saturday during the Winnemucca Grammar School's annual "Spook Night" celebration.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, the Winnemucca Event Center will be packed with those looking for some "spooktacular" fun - and they won't be disappointed.

The evening will include many of the Spook Night favorites that locals have come to expect as well as a few new attractions. In addition, there will be plenty of prizes to be had at the Fish Pond, Ring Toss, Football Throw, Calk Walk and other fun booths.

This year's event also will feature a brand new Spook House, which is being built by local artist Matt Hilbish with help from volunteers.

The evening will include Bingo with all its great prizes, including a final round of play for an electronic tablet, as well as plenty of goodies, soda pop and the very popular Mexican dinner. A raffle for some very big prizes, including $400 in cash, will round out the evening.

Those raffle tickets are now on sale from any Grammar School student or teacher or at the school itself. Tickets are 50 cents each or 3 for $1. The drawing will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Participants need not be present to win.

The evening represents the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Grammar School. Teachers at the school work in coordination with the "FROGS" Parent-Teacher Organization to produce the event.

Kids are encouraged to dress in costume. Booth, food and raffle tickets will be on sale at the door. Call the Winnemucca Grammar School at 623-8160 for more information.
