WINNEMUCCA - Our Winnemucca FFA chapter has had an eventful summer this year. We would like to thank all of our supporters during our car wash on July 1-2.
We asked for donations from the people that came, and washed vehicles from 8 a.m to noon both days.
Supporter Dianne Crowningshield stated, "The FFA kids did an excellent job within my budget. I will definitely go again next summer."
From June 17-20 numerous FFA members attended Summer Leadership Camp (SLC) located at Lake Tahoe. The main theme was "Ride Your Dream." Members learned about goal-setting and following their dreams. We obtained many skills that can be used for the rest of our lives, such as team and character building.
The officer team attended Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT). There they learned their officer duties and how to help better their chapter.
FFA member Kalie Morgan said, "It was a great experience and I can't wait to see what's next."
On Aug. 2-3 FFA members helped at the Superior Livestock dinner. We helped set up the band and pick up trash on the first day, and the next day we helped clean and put tables away.
Recently, on Aug. 4-5 the officer team went on a retreat to start planning for the upcoming year. We were able to set goals and bond as an officer team. We planned fundraisers, meetings and activities.
Vice President Crystal Venzor stated, "It was a great way to set our goals to better ourselves not only as a team but as a chapter too."
