The Winnemucca 9-10-year-old stars kicked off the Little League all-star season this past weekend in Elko. Winnemucca defeated Battle Mountain 36-1 on Saturday and lost 9-7 to High Desert (Fernley) on Sunday. Winnemucca was scheduled to play an elimination game at 6 p.m. on Monday. Results were not available at press time. The championship game is set for 9 a.m. on Friday. Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek), White Pine, Silverada (Dayton), Elko and Walker River (Yerington) are also competing in the tournament.
