William Buster Goodwin

William Buster Goodwin of Winnemucca, Nev., passed away on June 30, 2013, at Reno's Renown Hospital after a long struggle with diabetic problems. He is preceded in death by his parents "Bus" and Audrey Goodwin of San Luis Obispo, Calif. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen (Reinert) Goodwin, his son Jeff and daughter Bonnie of Hollister. He also had five grandchildren, Russel, Melissa, Justin, Erica and Regan and a sister, Mary Nordeen, of Sutherlin, Ore.

Buster was born in Santa Maria, Calif., on Aug. 3, 1941, and raised in Paso Robles, Calif. He enlisted in the Navy Reserves in 1958 before graduating from Paso Robles High School in 1959. He became active and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in September of 1959.

Buster attended Cal Poly studying Pomology and Viticulture. He married in 1962 and raised his family in Paicines, Calif., where he managed Almaden Vineyards. He had many interests during his life: trapshooting, developing The Feedlot Restaurant in Tres Pinos, Calif., real estate, golf, hunting and fishing.

Memorial services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, July 13, 2013.[[In-content Ad]]
