Will walk for wine

The Austin Chamber of Commerce and St. Augustine's Cultural Center are inviting everyone to come out June 14 to take part in the Gridley Wine Walk and dinner featuring live music.

"As usual, this wine walk will be a lot of fun," said Dee Helming, secretary for the Austin Chamber of Commerce. "All the businesses look forward to hosting the participants. We're excited to be able to use our new visitor center to host events."

The wine walk starts at 2 p.m. at the Austin Museum and ends at Jason's Art Gallery. There are eight stops in between that consist of the Toiyabe Cafe, the Leland House, the Trading Post, Main Street Shops/East 50 Realty, the Austin Owl Club, The Golden Club, Austin Counseling and Resource Center and Amens Legal Services.

For $30, participants can enter the wine walk, get a free glass, enjoy a box dinner and listen to the Smiling Possum String Band, featuring Rod Davis.

Dinner and music start at 5 p.m. at the new Austin Loneliest Highway Visitor Center. For those who only wish to enjoy the dinner and music and not the wine walk, the cost is $10.

The funds raised from the wine walk will go toward the chamber and the dinner is being held to benefit St. Augustine's.
