Wilkinson, McKee earn first-team, all-league honors for Lady Bulldogs Sherburn picked for second team

WINNEMUCCA - The McDermitt High School girls basketball team had Staheli Wilkinson and Debra McKee named to the first- team, all-league squad in the Eastern 1A as voted on by the league's coaches.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the year third in the Eastern 1A at 7-3 and were 16-6 overall, reaching the semifinals of the Northern 1A regional tournament.

Wells' Kevyn Swabb was named the Player of the Year, while Wells' Clay Fitch and Jackpot's Justin Martinez were named Co-Coaches of the Year.

The first team was rounded out by Wells' Ericka Pengelly and Eureka's Natalie Norcutt.

The Lady Bulldogs' Sharon Sherburn was named to the second team, along with Owyhee's Paige Catches, Wells' Margaret Wright, Eureka's Deanna Damele and Jackpot's Zonia Avila.

The honorable mention squad included Eureka's Katelyn Porter and Kasey Plaskett, Carlin's Brianne Weaser, Wells' Deryan Smith and Jackpot's Mariela Cortes.
