The upcoming Western Art & Craft show, held in conjunction with the Superior Livestock Auction, will feature 21 artists and craftsmen selling what one of the show's organizers, Debbie Hummel, called 'one-of-a-kind' items.
"This show is different in that we encourage handmade, re-purposed, and original work," said Hummel.
Hummel and Maryanna Enochson work together to organize and promote the Western Art & Craft Show, and have fun doing it. The show is becoming more widely known.
"Craftsmen have called us this year, so we are starting to get a following of talented vendors who create quality original items," Hummel said.
Enochson and Hummel were thrilled with the amount and diversity of the work they'll be able to offer. That includes hand-engraved silver and leather work, handmade pottery, floral arrangements, photography, original pastel, oil and water color paintings, greeting cards and hand-painted purses - even oil & balsamic vinegar products.
Saddle makers and woven handmade cinches and saddle blankets will also be in the show. Art created from repurposed wire and horseshoes will be featured, along with custom fit cowboy hats and hand-crafted western shirts, scarves and bags. There will be hand-braided jewelry, rope items, picture frames, and cowboy gear, and denim designs from quilts to potholders. Rustic primitive style jewelery made from copper, silver, and turquoise will be on hand, as will beaded jewelery and other one-of-a-kind jewelery items.
Everything from books to floral arrangements will join another unusual form of art - pictures made with smoke on paper.
Everyone is invited and the admission is free to the two-day Western Art & Craft Show, located in the east hall of the Winnemucca Convention Center July 31 and August 1. Thursday's hours are 9:00 a.m. To 8 p.m. Friday, the show will be open from 9:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m.
"There is a wide range of items that will appeal to everyone," said Hummel and Enochson adding their personal invitation to "Come on down and browse, we're sure you'll find something you'll love!"[[In-content Ad]]
