WINNEMUCCA -Winnemucca Domestic Violence Services and local athletes are gearing up for the annual Natasha Eden Memorial Tryathlon. The race is free and scheduled for Sept. 29 in Vesco Park. The race will include a 16-mile bike ride, a 2- mile run and a 500-yard swim. Organizers said you don't have to be a top athlete to register and participate. Participants are encouraged to try one, two or all three events. Adults and kids are welcome. You can walk the 2-mile run course or bike at your own pace during that segment of the event. Registration is available at the WDVS office. The event will include live music, give-aways and family fun. Donations and pledges will help raise money for a scholarship at Great Basin College for a student majoring in a social work or human services degree program, organizers said. The first wave of competitors will leave at 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. All participants who register will get a goody bag of stuff.[[In-content Ad]]
