WINNEMUCCA - Winnemucca Domestic Violence Services will host the 4th Annual Providing a Light Vigil and Banquet on Friday at 5 p.m. in the Winnemucca Convention Center West Hall Comstock Room.
The event features a dinner, silent auction and candlelight vigil and is a chance for the community to be a light in someone else's darkness. Funds raised will be used to provide important services like sheltering, counseling, education, financial assistance and other necessities for victims of domestic and sexual violence to become survivors.
It is also a chance to light a candle in remembrance of those who have lost their lives or someone close to them due to domestic violence. Together we can provide a path to a bright future for those who are ready to leave the past behind and take the brave steps to a safe and promising future.
The guest speaker will be Jonita Dunham, a survivor of domestic violence.
The dinner menu by Country Catering is vegetarian and meat lasagna, rolls, salad, a desert buffet and beverages. The cost is $25 per plate.
