WINNEMUCCA — The Winnemucca Convention & Visitors Authority will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. in the West Hall of the Winnemucca Convention Center.
The board will review and possibly take action on the June 22 and July 12 meeting minutes following the call to order.
General business items include a request for an extension of hours for the Mexican dances scheduled for Aug. 27 and Oct. 15, a report on the IMCA Wild West Iron Man Challenge, a report on the 2011 Shooting the West event along with a request for funding in 2012 and a funding request for delivery of safety barrels for the Street Drags event. Other general business items include a request for funding for the Humboldt County Shooting Park, East Hall repairs and upgrades and three accommodation 9-month refund requests.
Staff reports include financial reports on WCVA events, updates on the YESCO highway billboards, the Silver State International Rodeo, the Nevada State Youth Livestock Show and parking lot improvements and the purchase of 8-foot “Mity Lite” tables for major events.
Board secretary and counsel items include a discussion of meeting procedures, a monthly report (including compliances), a chamber of commerce report and review and action (if needed) on annual reports to the Debt Management Commission and to Taxation on the debt report and the five-year capital improvement plan. Also scheduled is a report on delinquencies and possible action on liens, an update on the East Hall carpet and painting projects, a Buckaroo Hall of Fame display loan agreement, the status of the indoor roping arena, a report on a jockey insurance audit for the prior year of the mule races and an update on the 2011 Legislature and its effects on the WCVA.
Other reports include those from the Rural Community Project, chamber of commerce and Events Complex/Agricultural District #3.
Regular business includes board member questions, audience comments, questions or complaints, other business, a closed personnel meeting (if needed), the agenda and date for the next meeting, public communication, room tax liens and delinquencies, correspondence and the review of time sheets.
