WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca Convention & Visitors Authority will meet on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the East Hall of the Winnemucca Convention Center.
The meeting begins with the call to order, review and action on the Dec. 21, 2011, and Jan. 18 minutes and review and action on claims.
General business includes the presentation and acceptance of the FY 2011 audit report, an event report and request for funding from the WSRRA, Ranch Rodeo Finals, a request for a West Hall facility grant for the annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner on April 17, a request for an East Hall facility grant for the annual living support event April 6 - 7 (if constitutionally permissible), a donation to the City of Winnemucca Special Fund and accommodation 9-month refund requests.
Staff director reports include financial reports on WCVA events, the purchase of a dance floor for the Convention Center, the purchase of an ATM machine for use at the Winnemucca Events Complex, a TCF concert update, a WEC Covered Arena update and budget review and approval for FY 2013.
Board secretary and counsel items include a chamber of commerce report, an update on mule races jockey insurance, a report on delinquencies for possible action on liens, an update on the East Hall carpet project, Convention Center parking lots regulations, an update on the East Hall electronic marquee and awning project, a New Ethics Commission outline on conflicts of interest, disclosure and abstention and a discussion on the constitutional prohibition against the use of public funds for sectarian purpose.
Board administrator items include the January financial reports.
Other reports include those from the Rural Community Project, chamber of commerce and Events Complex/Agricultural District #3.
Regular business includes board member questions, audience comments, questions or complaints, other business, a closed personnel meeting (if needed), public communication, room tax liens and delinquencies, an agenda and date for the next meeting and the review of time sheets.
