WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca Convention & Visitors Authority will be holding their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
The meeting begins with the call to order, meeting notice report, review and possible action on the Nov. 16 meeting minutes and claims for review and action.
General business items include a request from Humboldt County School District Superintendent Mike Bumgartner for a memorandum of understanding regarding the district's use of the Convention Center facility in the event of emergency.
The board will also get a 2011 season report from the Winnemucca Regional Raceway Association, along with a possible request for funding.
Other items include an East Hall facility grant request from Relay for Life and accommodation tax 9-month refund requests.
Staff reports from the director include financial reports on WCVA events, a proposal for East Hall and West Hall security systems, an update on the Winnemucca Events Complex covered arena and an Event Center expansion update.
Secretary and counsel items include a discussion of meeting procedures, a chamber of commerce report, a report on delinquencies and possible action on liens and a resolution concerning designated charitable donations by the WCVA for the 2011 Run-A-Mucca charitable lottery and designation of charitable donations for the 2012 lottery.
Other items include a report on receipt of YESCO billboard space rental payments, an update on the East Hall carpet project, an update on a "big name" concert for the Tri-County Fair and Porcupine Creek's two-sided billboard space lease renewal.
Also scheduled is counsel's 2011 audit rep letter and end-of-calendar year action.
Other reports include those from Rural Community Projects, the chamber of commerce and the Events Complex/Agricultural District #3.
Regular business items include board member questions, audience comments, questions or complaints, other business, a closed personnel meeting (if needed), public communication, room tax liens and delinquencies, an agenda and date for the next meeting and the review of time sheets.
