WCVA board to meet Wednesday, August 28th at 4:00pm

WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca Convention and Visitors Authority will hear a request from the Chamber of Commerce for funding support for the upcoming "Color the Mucc" run/walk.

The chamber also has a request to use equipment for the "Fall Farm Festival" planned for October. 4-H leaders are requesting a facility grant for a leaders forum next spring.

United Methodist Men have a request for a facility grant for their Buckaroo Breakfast this weekend. Humboldt Shooting Park representative Kent Arrien is also scheduled to make a funding request to the WCVA.

Next year's Shooting the West photography event has a request for funding for next March. Mike Scott of Performance Computing will be in to discuss the possible purchase of bandwidth for the Convention Center East Hall and West Hall, and the Winnemucca Events Center.

The WCVA board members will hear a report on the 2013 Mule Races and Show and discuss the event's future. They'll also consider a number of 9-month toom tax refund requests.

Staff reports include a financial report on events, possible purchase of 200 folding chairs for the convention center, and an update on an electronic scoreboard sign replacement for the Indoor Event Center.

The board will look over the East Hall LED video marquee bid specifications. Room tax delinquencies and the annual debt management report will be presented.

The WCVA meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the Convention Center East Hall lounge.[[In-content Ad]]
