Wayne Edward Eudey

Wayne, 86 was called home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2014 at Highland Manor in Elko, Nev. He was born Sept. 14, 1946, to Robert and Bertha Eudey in Childress, Texas.

He married Mary Jo Harris on Sept. 18, 1946, and together they raised four children. Wayne farmed and operated a gas station in Texas, and in the spring of 1966 the family moved to Antelope Valley, just south of Battle Mountain to farm in Nevada. Wayne began working as a miner for Duval Corporation in 1968 and he remained with the company until his retirement in Battle Mountain 20 years later.

Wayne, along with his wife was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. An honest and hardworking man, Wayne's presence and the sweet scent of Poppy's pipe will be greatly missed by his family.

Wayne is preceded in death by Mary Jo, his beloved wife of 60 years and his sister Audra Fay.

Wayne is survived by three sons and a daughter Wayne, Jr. (Debbie) Eudey of Elko, Richard (Florie) Eudey of Gilbert, Ariz.; and Phillip (Sue) Eudey of Elko; and Carol Eudey Urland of Elko. He is also survived by three brothers in Texas Travis, Curtis, and Harold Eudey.

Grandpa Wayne was blessed with 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
