Virginia Henriod Taylor "Aunt Sis", 86 years young, died July 6, 2012, at her home in Winnemucca. She was born March 24, 1926, in Uvada, Utah, to Gustave and Wilma Henriod and was the first of twelve children. She finished high school in Ely and married Gordon Taylor on March 17, 1945. She served as a "Rosie the Riveter" in Oakland, Calif., during World War II. She worked as a school bus driver during the day and a waitress at night. She was an Elkette in the Elks Lodge. Virginia enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, fishing, camping, canning, bowling and spending time with family. She loved to travel and look at the beautiful country and had the trip of a lifetime spending months exploring Alaska with her sister Marian and brother-in-law Dub. Virginia was a member of the LDS Church. She is survived by her children, Vicky Chiaroni of Rapid City, S.D., Ada Toles of Winnemucca and Marilyn Wheeler of Yreka, Calif.; thirteen grandchildren, David Davis, Donald Davis, Darlene Tryon, Valerie Chiaroni, Sharla Chiaroni, Michelle Tyler, Marcia Young, JR DeLeon, Marcell Ricci, Todd Taylor, Donille Taylor, Melanie Pyron and Kim Robustellini; twenty six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; her brother Gustave Henriod and sisters, Ellen Grow, Carol Martinez, Kathy Corbett, Judy Leon and Linda Henriod. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Wilma Henriod, her husband Gordon Taylor, a son Ronald (RGUT) Taylor; sister Josephine McIntosh; brother Gerald Henriod; Sister Hazel Bennett; sister Marian Ragsdale and sister Beatrice Fullerton. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Ely City Cemetery.[[In-content Ad]]
