On Saturday, Oct. 12, the local VFW Post 12116 held a barbecue and presentation of adoption papers to the local National Guard. The papers were presented by VFW Vice Commander Sheldon Rehberg to NCOIC Sgt. Marisa Aceves. With the adoption, the VFW pledges to offer assistance to any members of the National Guard stationed in Winnemucca or their families back home if help is needed. The great food was provided by the Pig BBQ and side dishes were made by VFW members and their families. The barbecue provided an opportunity to meet the 593 MTC and their families.
