RENO - The Nevada Office of Veterans Services Mobile Outreach Vehicle will visit Pershing County next week as part of its continuing effort to reach out to veterans in rural areas of the state. Veterans and military personnel will be able to meet with NOVS Veterans Service Officer Tim Shepard to learn about benefits and services they may be eligible for but unaware of. The MOV will be in Imlay on Wednesday, April 25, from noon until 6 p.m. at 380 Main St. next to the elementary school and post office. It will be located at the Pershing Country Community Center at 820 6th St. in Lovelock on Thursday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. "This visit is part of a recurring schedule we initiated for 2012," said Caleb Cage, executive director of NOVS. "Throughout the year, we will be in towns throughout the state on a regular schedule to meet and help veterans and their families so they can be better informed and take advantage of the benefits available to them." Veterans can make an appointment to meet with a Veterans Service Officer to discuss their benefits. Walk-in appointments will also be accepted and the NOVS staff will stay at the location as long as necessary to visit with veterans that come to visit the office. For more information, or to schedule an advanced appointment, contact Barbara at (775) 321-4880. Veterans are advised to bring a copy of their DD-214 discharge document and/or current VA claim(s) correspondence. If the claim involves their dependents, veterans should bring marriage and/or birth certificates as well as Social Security numbers of their dependents. The Mobile Outreach Office is funded by donations to the Veterans Gift Account that is supported by the Nevada Veterans License Plate Program.[[In-content Ad]]
