Veterans service officer to visit Battle Mountain Oct. 10

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Veterans Service Officer Tim Shepard, from the Nevada Office of Veterans Services, will visit the Battle Mountain Civic Center on Oct. 10 from noon - 6 p.m. as part of a continuing effort to reach out to veterans in rural areas of the state.

Veterans and military personnel will be able to meet with Shepard to learn about benefits and services they may be eligible for but unaware of.

Veterans are advised to bring a copy of their DD-214 discharge document and/or current VA claims correspondence. If the claim involves their dependents, veterans should bring marriage and/or birth certificates as well as social security numbers of their dependents.
