BATTLE MOUNTAIN - "This is your captain speaking; fasten your seat belts, Amazing Wonders Aviation has been cleared for takeoff!" That announcement started the daily adventure at Amazing Wonders Aviation.

Each day participants learned about some of the world's greatest natural wonders and encountered God's awesome power, according to a submitted article. The day started with worship at the Worship Rally Hangar.

The first stop was beautiful Victoria Falls for Bible study. Dr. David Livingstone visited daily and told about his life as a missionary and explorer in Africa.

While flying around the world kids visited the Paricutin Volcano for snacks; learned about missionaries around the world while under the Northern Lights; experienced music at the Matterhorn; had recreation at the Grand Canyon; and crafts at the Great Barrier Reef. They used the inflatables from our association's block party trailer for recreation.

A total of 89 children, as well as youth and adult leaders, attended the five-day event. Through Bible study they learned about God's amazing power over all creation. Daily themes were: God's power over nature, over circumstances, over sin, over death and over our daily lives.

Participants collected non-perishable food, toys, crayons, pencils, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, Chapstick and more to fill buckets to send to a missionary who lives on the edge of the Arctic Circle.

Food and supplies are as much as ten times more expensive there because everything has to be flown in on small planes. The missionary can use these items to minister to people in the many villages he visits.

Sixteen buckets were donated by Iturriaga's Battle Mountain Auto Supply. The buckets can be used over and over again to air mail supplies around the area. The offerings received at both VBS will be used to mail the buckets to Kotzebue, Alaska.
