MILL CITY - A Utah man suffered minor injuries Jan. 1 after his 2011 Freightliner and trailer overturned on Interstate 80 near Mill City.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Stewart, Jason Percival from Mendon, Utah, overturned the vehicle at mile marker 151 while heading westbound at approximately 11:42 a.m.

Stewart reported that Percival was choking on some food and blacked out while driving in the fast lane, causing him to leave the left edge of I-80. Percival overcorrected to the right, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn on its left side and partially blocking the westbound travel lanes.

According to Humboldt General Hospital Emergency Medical Services Director Pat Songer, the driver had minor injuries and was transported to HGH and subsequently treated and released.
