Update on Haskell Street military banner project

For those of you who have wondered, there are now spaces for more military banners on Haskell Street. I was very saddened when some of you who wanted banners early on couldn't have yours put up because we ran out of room. I'm so sorry that happened and was totally blind-sided at the time because it was so unexpected. Some of the older black light poles are empty and can be used. In addition, there are new white poles on the west side of the sidewalk that will accommodate two banners each.

If yours, or your loved ones' banner has disappeared it may have been damaged and/or blown of the pole. Check with the City Manager's office, 623-6333, and Jim Dandy Productions, 623-2918, to see if it was turned in. The weather does take a toll on the banners and seems to have affected some more than others.

If yours has been damaged, faded or ruined, please contact Jim Dandy Productions if you'd like to replace it. The normal cost for making a new banner will apply. My son's was one of the first to be put up and it has held up amazingly well. If I replace it I feel it will be well worth the cost.

A banner can be purchased in honor of any person from Humboldt County, Nev., serving in any branch of the military, or any veteran from Humboldt County, Nev., who has served. When you purchase a banner, pick it up from Jim Dandy Productions, then take it to the City Manager's office so that it can be put up as quickly as the crew has time.

We're very proud of our troops and veterans, and it's such an honor to recognize them in this way!

Questions? Call me at 623-2958. Leave a message if I don't answer and I will call you back soon.
