LOVELOCK - To honor fallen veterans, the public is invited to a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 27, at 9 a.m. on the steps of the Pershing County Courthouse.
There will be guest speakers at the tribute to veterans followed by a flag procession.
Veterans and volunteers will unfold and carry a 20-foot by 30-foot American flag from the courthouse along Main Street to Lovelock's 100-foot flagpole near the I-80 Interstate, where it will be flown at half-mast.
Following the ceremony, there will be a pancake breakfast, courtesy of volunteer firefighters at the Lovelock firehouse.
Old flags in need of proper disposal may be brought to the firehouse for a flag retirement ceremony.[[In-content Ad]]
