Train now for high wage technical careers

Great Basin College is accepting applications for the Fall 2014 semester for the following Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs: Diesel Technology, Industrial Millwright Technology, Welding Technology, and Electrical Systems Technology. Students interested in these programs can obtain an application at www.gbcnv.edu/mtc. Additional financial aid may also be available.

Students who complete the accelerated technical programs can receive a Certificate of Achievement or Associate of Applied Science in their chosen field within one year! The programs combine theory with hands-on training scenarios in state-of-the art lab facilities. Training in the five areas prepares students for positions in industrial settings, including the gold mining industry. The Great Basin College CTE programs produce qualified entry level technicians for the growing gold mining industry. Entry level wages start at approximately $22/hour.

Students can choose the Elko Campus for training in Diesel Technology, Industrial Millwright Technology, Welding Technology, or Electrical Systems Technology. Technical program classes run Monday through Thursday during the following times: 7 a.m. - 12 p.m., 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. or 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Great Basin College also offers an Electrical Systems Technology program at the GBC Winnemucca Center, Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. Great Basin College has on-campus housing available in Elko for the summer and school year.
